Counselor's Desk
My name is Monecia Hilbert and this is my fourth year as an Educator and my 1st year as the CTE Counselor at the South Pike Career and Technical Center. I have been a School Counselor for 4 years and I have worked as a middle school counselor.
I am a 2013 graduate of South Pike High School. After graduation, I attended The University of Southern Mississippi and earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a double minor in psychology and child and family studies. Then I continued my education at USM and earned my Master of Education in School Counseling.
I am an active member of the Mississippi Counseling Association and I am also an active member of the American School Counseling Association (ASCA).
As a school counselor, I focus on identifying barriers to success, leadership, and most importantly, my students through a comprehensive counseling program. My role consists of meeting with students individually or in small groups. I help all students apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions, apply interpersonal skills, and plan for high school options. I am excited to serve the students at South Pike Career and Technical Center. I am committed to the success of each and every student. My goal is to effectively support the social, emotional, and educational needs of ALL students.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns, questions, or suggestions. Together we can work as a team to ensure success for each student.
